This original one-of-a-kind oil painting, House of the Seven Suns, is by Annika Connor.
This piece is an unframed 40" x 40" Oil on Linen painting.
Painted in the artist's studio in Brooklyn, NY, this painting was inspired by a house in Rhinebeck, NY, that spoke to the artist's imagination as it seemed to be begging to be painted.
As Annika started to sketch the house, the old home began to talk to her imagination as it seemed to want to be surrounded by both the phases of the moon and the sun.
The mysterious nature of how this house called to the artist and why she felt compelled to paint it remains unknown. Annika explains it by saying, " I knew she had to listen to what the house wanted, and paint it a bit like a tarot card to honor the mysterious forces that drove my paint brushes to capture its likeness."
Even the title was curious as the phrasing came to Annika while she was sitting in church. Annika hopes that by capturing this structure's essence, the old historic home will now be happy.
Shortly after completing the oil painting, the house was sold to new owners, and Annika hopes that the house will go on to speak to new dreamers now.
